To download the current version of CalendarMaker go to the "home page"
of our Web site. Somewhere in the right side of this page you will see "Downloads."
Click on Downloads.
You then need to click on the desired product. In this case, click on "CalendarMaker
for OS X."
In this section, there are three (3) things that you can click on.
1) ReadMe -- This ReadMe text file contains information that you
may need to know, particularly if you are updating from an older version of CalendarMaker
5.
2) CalendarMaker 5.0.x Demo/Upgrade/Update/New for OS X 10.4.3
thru 10.6.8 - This is what you click on to start the download from our Web site to
your computer.
3) Quick Start Guide - This is the manual that will get you started
using CalendarMaker. You can also access this file while CalendarMaker is running
by selecting it from CalendarMaker's Help menu.
To install CalendarMaker on your computer, just download it from our Web site by
clicking on "CalendarMaker 5.0.x Demo/Upgrade/Update for OS X 10.4.3 thru 10.6.8."
After you have done the download you will find "CalendarMaker 5.dmg" on
either your Desktop or in your Downloads folder - depending on how you have your
browser's preferences set.
The extension "dmg" means a "disk image" file. When you double
click the "dmg" file, it will mount a "disk image" on your desktop
-- just as if you plugged in another drive into your computer, or as if you inserted
a CD. Some browsers, such as Safari, will automatically double click the dmg file
for you and mount the virtual drive (disk image) on your Desktop.
Open this "virtual" drive to show you the installation window. You just
drag the icon of the CalendarMaker application two inches to the right and drop it
on your Applications folder. This puts the application in your Applications folder.
The Applications folder that you see in this installation window is an alias to your
Applications folder on your hard drive.
If you have an old copy of CalendarMaker 5, which will, of course, be in your Applications
folder, the operating system will ask you if you want to replace the old version
with the new one. You say "Replace" and you're finished with the installation.
Note: the above step will not work if you are currently running CalendarMaker. You
can not replace a copy of a running application. You must quit any running version
of CalendarMaker in order to install a new version.
You then close the installation window and unmount (eject) the virtual disk image
by dragging it to the Trash.
You then throw away (drag to Trash) the "dmg" file that you downloaded.
That's all there is to it. The installation is complete.
If you have not previously entered a CalendarMaker 5.0 activation key, you will be
asked for your activation key the first time you launch this application. If you
have not yet purchased an activation key, you can choose to run the application in
30-day demo mode. |
